I liked this one! I've always had a pet interest in urban exploring but have never been, so this game was right up my alley. I also liked how the objectives served as a source of horror as well as guidance, it was a cool metatextual kind of scary that I think is underutilized (or at least, not utilized well by many games). This one did, though. :)
I havent been able to test new Mac updates - but if you have the crash/log files feel free to email them to me @mjmyers00@gmail.com and I will see what I can do
Played it on linux. Not sure what I did but when I tried to take my first picture the HUD disappeared and I had no clue how to continue. I think I took all the pictures in the list (at least I left-clicked) but nothing happened.
Also, the controls are a bit counter-intuitive. Never had so much trouble opening a door in any other game.
loved the spooky urbex vibe, loved yelling with my stream chat about how this was a disaster waiting to happen basically from start to finish. top notch atmosphere!
The game doesn't play well with ultrawide monitors, unfortunately. It's not a big deal if the game wasn't meant to be played in 21:9... However, instead of leaving black bars to the left and right, the game tries to fill the whole screen, which cuts off a large chunk of the top and bottom of the game.
It's not the end of the world, but if the developer ever feels like coming back to this project, it would be nice to see this issue resolved!
It took me a little while to work out what I had just experienced, I went in thinking I was exploring a spooky abandoned factory. Maybe some monster, maybe something really dangerous happened here. Yet all I found was barrels and some sort of Living Mass consuming the factory.
It was only after playing I realised, Wow we just watched our character die from Rapid Radiation Poisoning. How much Chemical Waste must have been hidden there, and you went in without realising it. It really is a unique horror game, that the narrative is really dark when you realise what is actually going on.
On the linux build, it seems like the game seizes up on "seethe and scab" but im not sure if that's because i got the "bad end"
so if that's intentional, it seems to run fine on linux!
Aside from the shadows, the shadows don't seem to project well, shadow of the table seems to float above it more than be projected forward from it. Not sure if that's a linux thing tho
Oh also this is super cool, it's clear a lot of work went into this
oh right i did run into: it doesn't handle 21:9 resolutions well, just chops the top and bottom off
When you look at the album of pictures after the game ends is there something special about the extra pictures? Or is that just there to show off ones you liked
Thats fair! If you want it (and a heap of other cool games) you can get it as part of the Ukraine Bundle for the same price
But in terms of price, its $10 because it took me upwards of 3 months to make on my own, working in my spare time - so at least 500+ hours of work for $10. As well its only 10 mins because it would have taken longer, and more labour for me to polish and execute to a level I am proud of a larger experience. What your paying for when you buy something like this though isn't just the game - it's also the creator's next game and the game after that. Your not just paying for one thing - your telling this person whose art you like, "Hey, I want to see where you go next, and I'm willing to support it"
tl:dr if you wanna play it but don't wanna pay that much go buy the Bundle for Ukraine, but $10 is a small price to pay to support someone continuing to make art you want to see in the world.

Tried on Fedora Linux 38, runs well.
Nice game, but the door opening mechanic works not very well, although feels interesting
I bought this game as part of a bundle and the mac version won't even open. Does it not work with newer mac updates?

slow burn that builds fast
I Played your game on stream and I really enjoyed it. I am still not sure what the scabs are though!

Can't wait to play this! I do love me some Max games.
Such an atmospheric scenario with creepy graphics and uncomfortably scary sound design.
I love it!
